臨床腫瘤科專科醫生的工作

臨床腫瘤科專科醫生主要負責癌症的診斷評估、非手術治療計劃及跟進，包括化學治療、放射治療、標靶治療、荷爾蒙治療及紓緩治療的諮詢與協調。部分治療會於合作醫院進行。醫生會按檢查結果、病況及個人情況解釋可行方向，並非所有求診者都需要即時接受治療。

Profile

Dr. Chow graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, in 1996. She later worked as a resident in Clinical Oncology at Queen Mary Hospital for 12 years and obtained the fellowships above. She has been in private practice since 2009 and is now a consultant at Sacred Heart Oncologists Cancer Centre.

Role of a Clinical Oncologist

A clinical oncologist is mainly responsible for the diagnostic assessment, non-surgical treatment planning and follow-up of cancer, including consultation and coordination of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, hormone therapy and palliative care. Some treatments are carried out at partner hospitals. The doctor will explain the feasible options based on examination results, medical condition and individual circumstances. Not all patients require immediate treatment.
